How To Protect Against Sports Car Theft

Monday, August 31st, 2009

Sports cars are coveted items and it is not surprising thieves too often target these valuable vehicles. There is a steady market for professional car thieves willing to steal sports cars. Meanwhile, joy riders and other potential car thieves seem uniquely attracted to a beautiful sports car. There is, of course, no way to guarantee you will not be victimized by a car thief, but there are measures you can take to reduce the risk of having your sports car stolen. These five tips, if followed, should significantly decrease the likelihood of car theft.
Location, Location, Location
The mantra of “location, location, location” is common to the real estate industry. The location of a piece of real property determines, in large measure, its value. Location is also important when it comes to car theft. One should take steps to avoid leaving their sports car unattended in locations where a theft is more likely.
For instance, one should strive to use secured parking areas. Monitored lots and garages deter car thieves. If a monitored parking area is unavailable, it is wise to seek out parking locations that are well lit and clearly visible to others. Privacy is the thief’s best friend, so parking in that remote nook or cranny increases the risk of wrongdoing.
Key Control
Although it is extremely simple and intuitive, taking your keys with you when you exit the car is the best way to reduce theft risk. One should take their keys with them whenever they are leaving the car-even if it is only for a quick run in and out of somewhere where the car remains in your sight.
Most car thefts are, in large measure, crimes of opportunity. To a potential thief, nothing screams opportunity like dangling keys in the ignition. Don’t tempt the sports car thief; take your keys with you.
A corollary to this hint is the reminder that one should never leave their car running, even on the iciest of days. You may relish returning to a toasty car from your quick errand, but a few seconds of chilliness is surely worth suffering through if the alternative is a stolen vehicle.
Hide the Goodies
Having your entire car stolen and driven away is the ultimate car theft nightmare. Having valuable objects taken from within the car runs a close second. In some cases, a thief’s desire to nab your awesome sound system may even inspire him to “borrow” the car until he can get it to a quiet place to perform the stereo removal. In other cases, sports car owners can suffer from broken windows or damaged locks when a thief has entered a car in search of a visible valuable item.
When exiting your car, do a quick scan for any items that may hold an attraction for a thief and get those items out of plain view. Trinkets as trivial as a cheap watch or a few CDs may attract the attention of break-in artists, so don’t assume what is of little value to you will be uninteresting for a thief.
It’s a good idea to purchase stereos with removable front plates or that are otherwise disguisable so as not to encourage theft. It’s also been found that one can reduce the likelihood of break-ins by making the interior a little less visible. For some sports cars, tinted windows may be both a great look and a theft deterrent. A simple fold-up sunscreen can protect your car from both harmful ultraviolet rays and prying eyes.
Present Small Challenges
Car thieves work fast because their “career” requires it. The longer a thief has to wrangle with a vehicle, the more likely he is to bail out of his mission. If a thief can ascertain quickly that a job will take more than a few minutes, he is likely to pass on by. As such, it is a great idea to take small measures that will make theft less convenient.
If you have the opportunity to parallel park between two other cars, take it. By making your car less capable of a quick getaway, you reduce the risk of theft. Additionally, being in the proximity of others will make the act of stealing your sports care more visible, which is very unattractive to thieves.
Small internal adjustments can also be a nice additional deterrent. If you have tilt steering, you may want to set the wheel at its lowest point, making quick access to the driver’s seat more difficult. Setting the parking brake can and turning wheels toward the curb in a street-parking situation can also help. Some people have gone so far as to pull their seatbelt over the steering wheel after parking, hoping the time required to access the driver’s seat will be lengthened enough to turn a thief off.
Use of items such as “the Club” can also help. Even if these locking mechanisms are not foolproof, they do add to the time required to steal a sports car. A potential thief, who needs to finish the act quickly and quietly, may see something as simple as a wheel lock as just enough of a time-water to dissuade him from attacking your sports car.
Alarms do Work
There is a growing belief that car alarms have become so commonplace that they are no longer effective. How many people even look in the direction of an alarm these days? It is true that car alarms no longer possess the novelty value they once had, but they still can act as a deterrent to car theft.
Thieves do not want any attention called to their activities. Although many of us ignore the beeps and sirens of alarms, many people will still look when they hear an alarm. Even if an alarm’s effectiveness is less than 100%, it increases the attention drawn to the act of car theft, and that can be enough to discourage break-in. Additionally, disarming the alarm will take time, and as we have noted, speed is key to the sports car thief. Car alarm installation is still a best bet for sports car protection.
You can never guarantee your sports car will remain safely in your possession at all times. A gorgeous sports car can seem almost irresistible to a thief, after all. Remembering these five pointers, however, can minimize the risk of theft significantly.

How To Really Profit From Your SEO Skills

Monday, August 31st, 2009

I want to give you a few tips to think about as you excel and grow in the craft of search engine marketing.
If you are anything like me, you were hooked the first time you really made a difference to someone else’s success. I soon realized that being able to help business owners to get results from these optimization methods and strategies could also be amazingly profitable. I found out that customers are your greatest resources and many of them are quite generous when you make an impact on their business. So the topic here is for those who want to profit from their skills (if you are not already doing very well and having an awesome time already).
It may seem like a strange thing to talk about but before I begin, I’ll say this. There are many folks out there offering various SEO services and they are still not getting the profits that they would like to make. They are not REALLY profiting the way they might if they took a little different approach. The solutions that business owners need to really make a difference in the bottom line, require more than just bringing volumes of traffic to a site. You need targeted traffic mixed with a web strategy to compel response.
Then another group that seems to be doing well at first but the truth is they are making lots of promises and sales but they are not able to hang on to clients very long because they are not delivering long term results.
Let’s talk about the benefits of SEO to you as a search engine marketer, then we’ll give you 5 ways to profit:
Here are just a few legitimate benefits of offering SEO services to your clients.
1. Increase your sales
There’s no telling how many sales you can make when you not only can talk the talk but you can walk the walk and REALLY deliver results. Prospects can sense there is something different about you and your services. You are known as the one who fixes up Web sites that don’t work.
2. Increase your repeat business
I learned that just because someone buys a web site, it does not mean that they are happy with it. But if you can turn that Web site around and make it work, then that same client may even BUY a second or a third Web site, not to mention, buy various promotional services. All they need to see is, that what you do… really does work!
Increase your referral business
What can I say, but word gets around quick! Business owners talk to other business owners and every time you help someone out and make them successful on the net, it’s like they tell everyone else they know. Referral business is wonderful!
3. Increase your credibility
With the right training and talent, your client comes to think of you as simply brilliant. This is not because you are REALLY brilliant, but you just look after your client’s business as if it were your own. If your client insists that they have the best web marketer and SEO on the planet, why burst their bubble? You make them prosper and they make you prosper.
4. Increase your confidence
There is a difference your client notices in you…right down to your body language and that inner knowing that if I’ve gotten other folks awesome results last week, I can do it again no problem this week.
5. Increase your authority
I can not say enough about solid communication and managing client’s expectations honestly.
6. Build Client loyalty
Let the competitor just try and steal your clients with false promises or tricky claims. You’ve done a great job of educating your client and making them web wise.
Now these things are quite profitable sounding but honestly, they are really just fringe benefits. Lets move on to talk about real profit options.
Now we’ll examine 5 Ways to Profit from SEO:
Here’s how it starts~
1. Stop focusing on sales and start focusing on your clients success!
There are so many “webmasters”, web designers, graphic artists in this business. Does it not just scare you a little bit? Don’t we have to enter into competition with other web developers and does it not become a rat race?
Start focusing on your client’s success.
Do all that you can do to make them successful. Pour all of your talents into making their projects work. So many folks I talk to can never stop thinking about where they will make their next sale instead of delivering results to the clients they ALREADY have and in so doing, you establish lifetime residuals.
Make your client successful and they will literally become part of YOUR sales team.
2. If you’re not up to speed, you better catch up fast. A difference in your performance is a difference in your profits!
If you are not up to speed on solid SEO marketing techniques and methods, start learning now. Take a course or study at a live workshop, but however you do it, get your SEO skills up to speed so you can really help people. If you can show them a strategy that really puts dollars in their pocket, they’ll put dollars in YOUR pocket!
3. How’s your batting average? How about profit sharing?
If your skills are medium to above average, why not share in the profits yourself. I am referring to offering someone a vertical contract. This would be a deal where you own part of the company in return for making it successful with your SEO skills. Don’t brush this off. There are some exceptional deals to be had if you start thinking laterally.
4. Don’t forget your community and charitable work.
When’s the last time you helped promoting a charitable work at NO cost. Build a site and promote it for the Literacy counsel or the Easter Seals Society or your Local Rotary Group or your Chamber of Commerce. Don’t forget that this work will often open unusual and even surprising doors. Help make others successful and you will not fail. Many important leaders within your local community will be serving on these committees right next to you! A great way to network and meet new people and help the cause.
5. Watch the latest SEO trends and position yourself to take advantage.
The study and practice of SEO has been very good to me. Five years ago, I never dreamed that my study of Optimization would lead to the Internet lifestyle. I look after my clients well and sometimes go a little beyond what some might do in the call of duty. I have clients that pay me well for my services and demonstrate that they care about my business. As a result of the work I have done, I have enjoyed wonderful repeat business and client loyalty. Referral business is the best type of business going because it does not really involve a lot of preparation or hard work. You know that when you arrive, that they really want YOU to do the job because of your track record. It’s wonderful business.
If you have not been enjoying good profits, a rewarding lifestyle and being appreciated by your clients your need a plan of action.
SUGGESTIONS:
1. You MUST be able to “deliver” and really make a difference. Do whatever it takes to get your SEO skills and lateral thinking skills up to speed.
2. Run a balanced business. Are you charging for what your services are worth?
There are some folks who charge steeply and don’t know how to get the results. For gosh sakes, if you’re good at what you do, make sure you are charging well for your services. You DESERVE fair reward if your considerable skills are helping other business owners to prosper. (some people are afraid to charge for their work)
Note: The ones that charge steeply but DON’T deliver may make a few dollars initially, but they won’t enjoy the customer loyalty, the referral business, repeat business that you do and they won’t have a “customer for life” like you will.
3. Don’t forget to recognize and be thankful for the progress you’ve already made. Be sure to benchmark your victories but even more important, celebrate your CLIENT’S VICTORIES too! After all, you helped bring them about.
4. Give something back to your community (with gladness). Look for opportunities to help others who genuinely need help and avoid those who are only after your talents to exploit them. (Trust me, when your SEO talents and success stories increase, you’ll have strangers coming out of the woodwork to take you to dinner and pick your brain). Proceed with wisdom.
5. You must be willing to change and take action! Performing the way you perform now has delivered a certain result. So if your happy with that result, carry on exactly the same way and you should get very similar results. If you are not happy with your results now, then you must change the way you do things.
Same action = same result
Different action = new results
Are you looking for new results?
Is it a time for a change of action?
Here’s wishing you the ultimate success for your future projects and the very best of personal success to you too.

Eight Steps to Better Public Speaking

Saturday, August 29th, 2009

Be prepared. If you’re naturally nervous about public speaking, then being poorly prepared will only make matters worse. Make investment and take the time do your homework properly. Plan what you’re going to say, do the research, and take thorough notes. Knowing you are ready before you get up on stage will give you more confidence.
Speak from notes, don’t read a pre-written speech. It takes a highly-trained, professional actor to be able to read sentences from a page and make them sound like natural speech. If you have those acting skills, you certainly don’t need to read this information. But if you’re like most of us, it’s best not to read a speech. A few notes with key words or phrases written on index cards will remind you of what ideas you will talk about. Structure your talk with an introduction, middle and conclusion. Tell what you’re going to say, say it, then tell what you’ve said.
Be yourself. Make it real. When you’re talking about something familiar to yourself, you will feel more natural and your audience will accept you more readily. So think of how your topic relates to yourself, and include stories that relate to your own personal experience.
Rehearse, at least a couple of times, preferably at least one day before your speech. Once you are familiar with everything written on your note cards, you’ll have no trouble telling people about it. And “sleeping on it” does wonders for helping you remember facts and figures.
Prepare yourself mentally, like an athlete before a competition. Immediately before going out onto the stage, take a few moments to be by yourself and “psych” yourself into a positive frame of mind. Repeat the following phrase to yourself several times: “I’m glad I’m here. I’m glad you’re here. I know what I know.”
When you’re in position on the stage, wait an extra moment before you start. Take a deep breath, and try to remember to keep breathing. If your mouth is dry, have a glass or bottle of water handy and take a sip.
Direct your speech to one person. Imagine that someone you like and trust, and someone who likes you, is way in the back of the audience. Address the majority of your speech to her or him. Of course, don’t just stare in one spot. Once you’ve gained momentum, pick out a few other friendly faces in different parts of the audience and include them in what you have to say.
Smile. Unless your talk is about something deadly serious, let the audience see that you’re having a good time up there. Don’t rush. Savor the moment. Speaking too fast makes your words hard to understand. If the audience can see that you feel good, that will make them feel good too, and your speech will be even more successful.

How to Beat the Survival Game and Achieve Self Actualization

Saturday, August 29th, 2009

I don’t know about you, but I spent a lot of years struggling to find a way to make time for self actualization. It always seemed like survival issues got in the way and stole all the energy I needed to achieve my higher needs and goals. I call this syndrome…
Maslow’s hierarchy Blues
There were other symptoms too. My relationships suffered because of stress and low energy. I could barely even find time to learn or study let alone contemplate or meditate. Possibly it was made a little more difficult by the fact that I had 6 children and because of that my wife couldn’t work much. I also never went to college before starting a family. With all this working against me how could I achieve self actualization?
My story is a glaring example of what Abraham Maslow, eminent psychologist and researcher, found when he interviewed people who were self - actualized. He developed the theory that people have a hierarchy of needs. When a need isn’t met on a lower level, it’s much more difficult or even impossible for them to evolve to more mature or self actualized states.
Whether or not the theory of a “hierarchy” of needs holds true, it seems to be a universal experience that some needs are more basic than others and when they are not met adequately they stifle personal growth. Self actualization must stand on a foundation that is more or less stable.
The basic needs are a healthy body, security and satisfying relationships. To the extent that we are not able to adequately meet these needs, we are doomed to a treadmill existence. We are trapped in a system that requires all of our available energy to meet basic needs and none is left for self actualization.
In order to beat this system consider approaching your basic need aquisition in a way we call Optimal Living. Put simply, Optimal Living principles help you achieve the most with the least amount of energy. For great resources on each of the subjects below see the Authors box at the end of the article. Now let’s take a look at these basic physiological needs.
Take care of your body
We obviously need to breathe, drink, eat, sleep and stay warm enough and avoid illness. It would be difficult to put our attention anywhere else if we didn’t have these things in place. These needs can be met in a minimal (not enough) or extravagant (too much) way. There is also the optimal way.
Consider joining a natural food Co-Op where you can buy wholesome food at a huge discount at the same time you will meet like minded friends. This will help you meet your relational needs. When you do it right you will have a body that will carry you through to the highest level of human actualization and give you many years of enjoyment instead of pain.
A roof over your head.
Another physiological need is to have shelter. You can solve your shelter needs in a lot of ways, some of them painfully expensive. If you want to do this with the least amount of wasted life energy, try Co-housing. This is where a group of people are getting together to lower the costs of housing in many creative ways. You get to maintain your freedom, but live well at the lowest possible cost. Why do you need a lawn tractor in every garage when you can share one? The possibilities are endless. There are organizations set up to assist you in finding the right solution. Try looking up “Co-housing” or “alternative lifestyle” on the Internet.
Stabilize your financial position.
Security and Safety is the next level of needs to be met. When your body is OK and you have adequate shelter, you’ll be able to turn your attention to this. How can we create income and financial stability in an optimal way?
A steady income is paramount and is important if you want to meet any of the other needs of being a human. Face it, income or money is the medium of exchange in our society and around the world. If we can’t resolve this need, we remain stuck in many ways. The only alternative is to drop out of society by joining a commune or monestary. I don’t recommend either. I feel that the loss of personal freedom would hamper my ability to meet the higher needs that exist. There is also the issue of autonomy which is seriously challenged in these living situations. So how to develop a steady income that doesn’t steel all your energy and time? Plus how can we avoid the treadmill of 9 to 5 suburban - barely making it - stressed out existence?
In our effort to obtain financial security we can’t give up the ship of our moral compass. That creates inner conflict. Nor can we throw out the baby with the bathwater. Finding a right livelihood that creates income and complements our values is a rare gem. Fortunately, the Internet is making things possible that couldn’t even be dreamed of before the computer / information age. Explore these possibilities.
Affiliate Programs - are web based businesses that allow you to join up and promote a product or service for a commission. You can easily find a program that resonates with you no matter what your interests are. If you want to sell vitamins and organic foods, you got it. If you want to help people overcome their issues, build better relationships etc. you got it. Another important factor to consider is, don’t put all your eggs in one basket. Work on creating multiple self perpetuating streams of income.
Build healthy relationships
This could prove to be the most difficult objective in your quest for self actualization. Relationships have a tendency to press all of our buttons sooner or later. Knowing what to do with the raw emotions that can arise in relationships can make or break you. Why do you think the divorce rate is way above 50%? The dating breakup statistics are even worse. Even getting along with our children or parents or siblings is a serious challenge. All of this potential conflict can seriously sap your energy and time.
Relationships are complex. On one hand they meet a basic need of the individual. On the other hand they provide a continual challenge that either catalyzes our personal growth or triggers our issues and causes alienation and emotional pain. Negotiating the perilous waters of relationship is much safer and more rewarding if we get some genuine quality assistance and guidelines. Don’t leave it to chance, there is plenty of great relationship help on the internet.
Join supportive groups.
Find a group that you can feel comfortable and relate to. The main criteria to look for is their “inclusivity” quotient. Make sure the group you give your life energy to is not excluding or marginalizing any other groups or people. The degree to which they accept and appreciate all forms of truth and expression is the degree to which you will be able to grow with them and express yourself freely.
Obviously this would not be a fundamentalist “We are the only way” type group. Think about what type of activities you enjoy, your lifestyle and what you would like to experience. Find a group or groups that compliment your criteria at the same time give you opportunity to stretch or challenge yourself. Lots of groups can be found on the Internet, or in our resource pages.
Optimal Living guarantees maximum “lift off” from the gravitational pull of the basic physiological needs. By optimal living I mean that you create a situation that guarantees that these needs are met in an automatic way. If not automatic, the idea is to obtain what you need with the least amount of energy necessary. Energy is the commodity of transformation. Without it you stand still. Gather it, conserve it and use it wisely, and you create the optimal conditions for real lasting growth.
With the right strategy and by paying attention to the hierarchy of needs, you can make your way to self actualization a much more pleasant journey. You will be covering all the bases so you will experience less surprises and setbacks. By sewing the right seeds, you will also have the energy you need. For a great list of resources on fulfilling all these human needs in an optimal way, see our resource site below.

How to Advance in a Housekeeping and Cleaning Career

Saturday, August 29th, 2009

Overall employment of cleaning workers is expected to grow as fast as average for all occupations, as more office complexes, apartment houses, schools, factories, hospitals, and other buildings requiring cleaning are built to accommodate a growing population and economy. As many firms reduce costs by contracting out the cleaning and maintenance of buildings, businesses providing cleaning services on a contract basis are expected to have the greatest number of new jobs in this field. Although there have been some improvements in productivity in the way buildings are cleaned and maintained using teams of cleaners, for example, and better cleaning supplies’ cleaning still is very much a labor-intensive job.
Much of the growth in these occupations will come from cleaning residential properties. As families become more pressed for time, they increasingly are hiring cleaning and handyman services to perform a variety of tasks in their homes. Also, as the population ages, older people will need to hire cleaners to help maintain their houses. In addition, housekeeping cleaners will be needed to clean the growing number of residential care facilities for the elderly. These facilities, including assisted-living residences, generally provide housekeeping services as part of the rent.
Housekeeping cleaners perform any combination of light cleaning duties to keep private households or commercial establishments such as hotels, restaurants, hospitals, and nursing homes clean and orderly. In hotels, aside from cleaning and maintaining the premises, maids and housekeeping cleaners may deliver ironing boards, cribs, and rollaway beds to guests’ rooms. In hospitals, they also may wash bed frames, brush mattresses, make beds, and disinfect and sterilize equipment and supplies with germicides and sterilizing equipment.
Cleaners use many kinds of equipment, tools, and cleaning materials. For one job they may need standard cleaning implements; another may require a special cleaning solution. Improved building materials, chemical cleaners, and power equipment have made many tasks easier and less time consuming, but cleaning workers must learn the proper use of equipment and cleaners to avoid harming floors, fixtures, and themselves.
Cleaners and servants in private households dust and polish furniture; sweep, mop, and wax floors; vacuum; and clean ovens, refrigerators, and bathrooms. They also may wash dishes, polish silver, and change and make beds. Some wash, fold, and iron clothes; a few wash windows. General house workers also may take clothes and laundry to the cleaners, buys groceries, and performs many other errands.
Building cleaning workers in large office and residential buildings, and more recently in large hotels, often work in teams consisting of workers who specialize in vacuuming, picking up trash, and cleaning restrooms, among other things. Supervisors conduct inspections to ensure that the building is cleaned properly and the team is functioning efficiently. In hotels, one member of the team is responsible for reporting electronically to the supervisor when rooms are cleaned.
Building cleaning workers usually work inside heated, well-lighted buildings. Working with machines can be noisy, and some tasks, such as cleaning bathrooms and trash, can be dirty and unpleasant. They spend most of their time on their feet, sometimes lifting or pushing heavy furniture or equipment. Many tasks, such as dusting or sweeping, require constant bending, stooping, and stretching.
Cleaning supervisors coordinate, schedule, and supervise these activities. They assign tasks and inspect building areas to see that work has been done properly; they also issue supplies and equipment and inventory stocks to ensure that supplies on hand are adequate. They also screen and hire job applicants; train new and experienced employees; and recommend promotions, transfers, or dismissals. Supervisors may prepare reports concerning the occupancy of rooms, hours worked, and department expenses. Some also perform cleaning duties.
Building cleaners usually find work by answering newspaper advertisements, applying directly to organizations where they would like to work, contacting local labor unions, or contacting State employment service offices.
No special education is required for most cleaning jobs, but beginners should know simple arithmetic and be able to follow instructions. High school shop courses are helpful for jobs involving repair work.
Most building cleaners learn their skills on the job. Beginners usually work with an experienced cleaner, doing routine cleaning. As they gain more experience, they are assigned more complicated tasks. In some cities, programs run by unions, government agencies, or employers teach these skills. Students learn how to clean buildings thoroughly and efficiently; how to select and safely use various cleansing agents; and how to operate and maintain machines, such as wet and dry vacuums, buffers, and polishers.
Students learn to plan their work, to follow safety and health regulations, to interact positively with people in the buildings they clean, and to work without supervision. Instruction in minor electrical, plumbing, and other repairs also may be given. Those who come in contact with the public should have good communication skills. Employers usually look for dependable, hard-working individuals who are in good health, follow directions well, and get along with other people.
Advancement opportunities for workers usually are limited in organizations where they are the only maintenance worker. Where there is a large maintenance staff, however, cleaning workers can be promoted to supervisor or to area supervisor or manager. A high school diploma improves the chances for advancement. Some of them set up their own maintenance or cleaning businesses.
Supervisors usually move up through the ranks. In many establishments, they are required to take some in-service training to improve their housekeeping techniques and procedures and to enhance their supervisory skills.
A small number of cleaning supervisors and managers are members of the International Executive Housekeepers Association, which offers two kinds of certification programs for cleaning supervisors and managers: Certified Executive Housekeeper (CEH) and Registered Executive Housekeeper (REH).
The CEH designation is offered to those with a high school education, while the REH designation is offered to those who have a 4-year college degree. Both designations are earned by attending courses and passing exams and both must be renewed every 2 years to ensure that workers keep abreast of new cleaning methods. Those with the REH designation usually oversee the cleaning services of hotels, hospitals, casinos, and other large institutions that rely on well-trained experts for their cleaning needs.

Use Pay Per Click (PPC) to Increase Traffic to Your Website

Saturday, August 29th, 2009

Pay Per Click (PPC) is an advertising method that can be used to promote your website. By placing a PPC ad, you are paying the search engines to bring traffic to your website. You, the advertiser, pay a “cost per click” each time a person clicks on your ad. This cost is determined by the amount you bid for each keyword associated with your ad. You place an ad using the keywords you want to reference to your website, and place a bid on those keywords for placement rank. The higher the bid, the higher rank you can obtain in the search engine for placement of your ad. When a person searches for your keyword, your ad will appear in the search results. Each time your ad is clicked on, you are charged the amount that you bid on for the word being searched.
There are several PPC search engines. The most popular ones in the US these include:
. Google
. Yahoo
. MIVA
. Kanoodle
. LookSmart
. Lycos
. goClick
. Enhance
. Searchfeed
. ePilot
. Search123
. 7Search
In the UK these include:
. MIVA UK
. Mirago
When you place your PPC ad campaign with one the search engines, be sure the keywords that you use are the same as the primary keywords used in your website. You also want the keywords to be the same as those in the title of your ad. Use very targeted keywords. Do not bid on every word that you think might relate to your site. While this may attract additional traffic to your site, it will not be the targeted traffic that you want. You want your ad to bring traffic to your site that will convert into a sale. By placing your ad using targeted keywords, you will be bringing potential customers to your site and not visitors. Since you are paying each time someone clicks on your ad, you don’t want to pay for visitors.
It is also advantageous to place more than one ad campaign for your site. The second ad campaign would contain targeted keywords that were different from the ones used in the first ad campaign. This way, you can run a comparison of the two ad campaigns to see which one works the best and which keywords are being searched for most often. If you find that only a few keywords in each ad campaign are being searched for, you can always take those keywords that are targeted the most and put all those words in one ad campaign. This will save you time in the long run as you will then only have to keep tabs on one ad campaign for your website.
The cost of PPC can become very expensive very quickly. This cost can be controlled, however, by setting a limit on the amount that you tell the search engines you are willing to pay per day for your ad campaigns. You can also control the amount of clicks by only using targeted keywords related to your website.
If used properly, PPC is a great way to get targeted traffic to your website. Just make sure your ad campaigns are set up to use the same keywords that your website is optimized for. When you set up an ad campaign, the search engine will crawl your website. If the keywords in your ad campaign are different from those in your website, you will have a higher bid rate. Don’t run one ad campaign with 100’s of keywords. Run two or more ad campaigns using a smaller number of targeted keywords.
The search engines are constantly changing their rules and guidelines. Be sure to keep current with all the changes and adjust your ad campaigns accordingly.

Unlimited webhosting - For $3.95

Saturday, August 29th, 2009

Unlimited webhosting is a service offered by webhosting companies that sets no limits on some features. Unlimited webhosting features include unlimited email addresses, email forwarding, auto-responders, mailing lists, MySQL databases.
Unlimited webhosting often features unlimited email address refers to the email account where you can send and receive messages. If you are the only one person maintaining the site, then 1 email address could be enough. But if there are two or more, you need separate email account for each person. An email alias will allow you create a number of email addresses for a domain. For instance, support@yourdomain.com, you@yourdomain.com, and others. Email aliases are often sent to a specified POP mail account.
Unlimited webhosting has unlimited email forwarding too. Email forwarders allow you to forward emails from one email address to another. Unlimited webhosting could also offer unlimited auto-responders. This is also called auto-replies. Email auto-responders can be very useful. You can create an auto-responder so that when you receive a message in your account you can reply automatically to the sender. Some auto-responders include: out-of-office auto-reply, an auto-reply informing the sender that you receive his/her message or a sales quote for a particular product.
Unlimited mailing lists are another feature for unlimited webhosting. Mailing lists serve as an important tool of communication with your visitors. These are often used for distribution of site newsletters or email discussion forums to your visitors. Most providers offer Majordomo as their mailing list program. This program is very hard to learn. You can find other mailing lists from many independent websites that are cheap and free.
Services that offer ‘unlimited bandwidth’ are making false claims. You must ask the webhosting service how they define the term ‘unlimited bandwidth’. If they use ‘unlimited bandwidth’ to refer to ‘unlimited hits’ then they do not have the right definition for the term ‘bandwidth’. Hits refer to the actual request for the content from your site. Bandwidth refers to the actual content. You can use as much bandwidth as you need but there is a set amount of bandwidth allotted to your site. And if you need additional bandwidth you have to pay additional also.
Unlimited webhosting service can be confusing to the user. So if your hosting service mentioned the word ‘unlimited’ be sure to let them define it. Read the Terms of Service or Terms of Use so you have a fair idea if the unlimited option the unlimited webhosting service is offering is for real.

Corporate Blogging - Pitfalls And Guidelines

Saturday, August 29th, 2009

It is widely recognized that blogging is one way to easily add new content to a website, and lots of corporates are embracing the idea with gusto. Not only are there companies that do corporate blogging, but in lots of cases it is not just the CEO or the marketing manager who blogs, but the actual employees of the company itself. Google and Microsoft are just two companies that allow and/or encourage their employees to blog. But the whole concept is fraught with pitfalls. The problem is the conflict between confidentiality and frankness and quite a number of blogging employees have been fired recently for inappropriate blogging behavior.
Questions that are raised and that contribute to the problems around corporate blogging are some of the following:
How much should employees be allowed to say about the internal workings of the company? Certainly, Coke-Cola will not be impressed if an employee blurts out the formula for Coke on the company blog for the whole world to see.
Likewise, should employees be allowed to criticize the company or their direct management? Some companies allow this, some do not. Another question that must be asked is how much time employees should be allowed to spend on blogging. Is this seen as part of their job descriptions, should it form part of their formal job output models?
It is clear that companies that venture into the corporate blogging arena would be wise to follow some other large corporate’s examples and draw up blogging guidelines. These blogging guidelines should state clearly the boundaries within which the employee should operate, but it should not be so strict as to smother any creativity or place a complete ban on the activity, nor make it so cumbersome to get permission to say something that it becomes virtually impossible to keep a personal feel to the blog and it merely becomes another official corporate mouthpiece.
Corporate blogging is a great way to add content to a corporate website, to attract new customers, to publish more content regarding company products, services and events and in general to add a more human feel to a company website – but some guidelines are necessary to defend both the company and the employee respectively from blogging themselves into bankruptcy or unemployment!
The following guidelines have been taken from various corporate blogging rules that are published - they might be a good starting point for any company thinking of allowing its employees to blog:
- Do not criticize other products or competitors.
- Make it clear that you are stating your own opinion, and not necessarily that of the company.
- If in doubt, discuss it with a colleague or your manager
- Do not blab company secrets (e.g. secret processes or formulas, or things such as potential mergers, takeovers, or anything that can be seen as confidential information)
- Do not blatantly use the blog as a platform for overtly selling the company products. The blog is not the right place for that. Be informative and authentic.
- Do not cite customers or partners without their approval
- And quite important – do not venture personal opinions on politics, race or religious issues – respect your reader.

The Basics Of Dog Leash Training

Saturday, August 29th, 2009

It is a wonderful experience getting a new mate in your home - a puppy. However, it comes with certain responsibilities and duties for you, not only joy. First, your puppy should be trained well, right from the beginning in the basics of house living so you do not have too much trouble with new addition. It’s very important, as if the momentum you’ll lay will be experienced through the rest of your dog’s habits. These would include commands such as ’sit’, ‘beg’, ‘lie down’, ‘come’, ‘roll over’ and so on. Dog leash training is also one of the most basic parts of dog training.
What is the best time to start dog leash training? The training of a puppy should start when your puppy is about 6-7 weeks old. The best and the fastest way to get good results is to use the positive reinforcement. Positive reinforcement in dog leash training means every time your puppy performs well, you should praise lavishly and you can give your dog a small treat. The positive reinforcement method works much better than any other method available for training dogs.
You will need to take your dog for a walk on a leash once or twice a day so it gets the required exercise and it can relieve itself outside, unless you live on a ranch of course, and your dog can walk by himself whenever he wants. A certain amount of discipline will be needed from the dog if you do not want to be running after it and screaming at it every time it wants to chase something or someone, which usually happens with young puppies. This discipline while walking on a leash is called - dog leash training.
Dog leash training should be started in friendly and known for dog environment. Otherwise the puppy would be too busy inspecting the new place than listen to what you have to say. The best place would be the front of your house, or the backyard, or where usually take your dog for a walk. You can use a nylon lead for the first time which is light and yet strong enough, or a choker collar would be good to keep the dog from pulling on the lead, though the best would be gentle tugging with a stern command.
As mentioned before, the best way for your dog leash training is the positive reinforcement method. You walk in front of the dog and call it to you. When it comes, you give it a treat and praise it. Keep repeating this process while gradually increasing the distance you have the dog walk with you, along with you. Every time it does it without pulling or staying behind you reward it. It will surely take time and patience, but it will be fun for you and the dog.
Don’t forget that a puppy is not only joy, you have responsibilities as well. Train your dog so you could be proud of him!
